Weekly Homework

This is where to come to find weekly homework plans for your child's class. The plans are uploaded on a Friday for the coming week. Seeing the weekly plans can help prepare for the lessons of that week. This homework is delivered daily through the Seesaw App by your child's class teacher. Your child can submit homework, get feedback from their teacher, and enjoy taking part in their class blog with the Seesaw App.

Please sign up to use the Seesaw App

If you have not already signed up for Seesaw, you can sign up here. Complete the form and you will be emailed a code for your child to start using Seesaw.

Do not put yourself under unnecessary pressure to complete all of the homework suggested on this page, think of it as a menu of work. Do what you can, whenever you can and don't worry if you only get a little done. Some days will be better than others! This pandemic will pass and your child will be back in school and we will continue their education from wherever they are at that point in time. We know it has been very hard on parents and children over the last few weeks with all the changes that have come about. The most important thing in the situation we find ourselves in now is to keep safe and healthy.

School on TV

RTÉ will be broadcasting  an hour of “school on TV” to support primary school children and their parents at home.

This initiative has been developed by RTÉ with the support of the dept of Ed. It will begin on Monday . It will run from 11 to 12 Mondays  to Fridays on RTÉ 2, with a shorter “catch-up” segment later in the afternoon. It will be aimed particularly at children in 1st to 6th class. The programme will also be available on the RTÉ player and supporting worksheets and other materials will be available on RTÉ.ie/learn.

Weekly Challenge - Drop Everything And Read

The idea is that at a set time every day for the week everyone stops what he or she is doing and Senior Infants to Second Class children read for fifteen minutes. It is a shared experience and gets the family talking about books and reading while conveying a strong message that your family believes in reading. Give it a go, are you up to the challenge!?  You can read anything, newspapers,  books, flyers, instructions, online stories etc.

For junior infants, the challenge is to be read a story every night going to bed zzzzzzzz.
